Notebooks Vs Laptops
It seems a lot of general confusion about what exactly is a "notebook" in comparison to other types of portable computers. Who, unlike Netbooks, which are playing a recently new kind of portable PC with a significantly different role, laptops been around for a while and are now barely distinguishable from standard laptops. The two concepts are in fact often used interchangeably today.
The term "laptop" was coined around 1989 to describe new linessmaller laptops, which were about the size of a typical A4 paper notebook. Fit the first two, the original label, the NEC UltraLite and Compaq LTE notebook line was of a system, the IBM ThinkPad arrival a few years later to really popularize the form factor. Laptops before then (and since have been many) usually wider, taller and fatter, with the laptops of today are so fit extra goodies into the system to increase airflow really cool too powerful processors, or justhave a larger, eye-catching screen (or all of the above, as is the case sometimes).
For a while thereafter, used the term "notebook" as the term to smaller laptops, which were usually by business people and students through its lower weight and smaller shape makes it easier to carry around used to describe. With this smaller size, but notebooks are generally known for something else.
Due to the reduced size, notebooks were typically lesspowerful than their larger laptops, so they great companions in addition to desktop replacement, but not good for them. This distinction has lasted until today, despite the fact that notebooks in a variety of sizes now come, that they look, feel and look like laptops. With stronger, more laptops, says nothing can be all but the most powerful desktops, it is still relatively easy to learn, the less efficient, more streamlined notebooks, even if theyhave 16 “ screen and DVD drives.
That means, notebooks, which are now located between laptops and netbooks in terms of computing power and general usage. Where Netbooks extreme portability and low prices, they are also the lowest common denominator in terms of computing power and storage space. Unlike Netbooks, notebooks are not designed only for office use and designed surf the Internet - they can get almost any job, the laptops and desktopscan.
With notebooks and laptops together and are becoming increasingly similar, it is possible that very soon there will not be any difference between the two at all.
Finally, we wish to point out that there is a difference between laptops and notebooks, which almost always at the present time: touch-screen functionality. Currently, the share of notebooks with a touch screen is built in increases rather rapidly. Although there are laptops withTouch screen support, the function is, at least for the moment, a notebook case.
